Course Outline

The primary objective of the 25-hour individualized instructor-led Career Research Course is to meticulously examine potential career paths and formulate a comprehensive plan of action for implementation. Participants are tasked with identifying a curated selection of 3 to 6 prospective career options that have the potential to pave the way for new employment opportunities. This structured process encompasses a detailed assessment of transferable skills and individual interests, engaging in thorough career exploration, conducting methodical research, and subsequently presenting substantiated outcomes in a comprehensive report. The course is designed to equip participants with the analytical tools and strategic insights necessary for informed decision-making in the pursuit of career advancement. The content of this course encompasses a detailed examination of various critical aspects within 1. Overview of current job opportunities for a comprehensive career path perspective 2. Exploration of Occupation NOC codes, industry prospects, and labour market outlook 3. Analysis of the nature of work, working conditions, and specific settings/locations 4. Understanding of duties, typical working hours, and physical requirements 5. Scrutiny of personal attributes, required skills, educational prerequisites, and any special requirements 6.
